We anticipate as normal of a basketball season as we are permitted to have this winter. That will include home games (the school district has said they intend to rent gym space again) and a regular practice schedule.
We expect to support our usual array of teams; boys and girls from fourth through eighth grade. The number of teams per division as well as if they are A/B format (versus even talent) depends on a combination of several factors. Among them, the number of kids trying out, the talent at tryouts, availability of coaches and gym time, as well as of course program philosophy that we have in partnership with the high school program.
We anticipate two weekends worth of tryouts in mid/late October. From there, the anticipated first week of games in CMYBL is Sunday, December 5. It will be a ten game season ending in early March. There will be no games on December 26 or either weekend of February Vacation week. We do not know if we will have a February vacation week tournament this season yet.
One difference with payments is we will only be accepting online payments this year (via PayPal or Venmo). We will also require payment to be made within a couple of days of a player making a team unless prior consideration has been granted.
Registrations for tryouts should be open by September 10. If you have questions in the meantime or are interested in helping out as a coach this season, please email Dee Biggs (boys basketball) at deebiggs@comcast.net or Ben Smith (girls basketball) at bsmith@fenn.org.
